I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU

How I fell for you, my love!
Spellbound. The stars foretold my fate,
Prepared I was, yet, had I known.
My heart did open to greet you.
Warm were the ferns.
I told you all I knew.
Lured you ... called your name.
You were afraid. And I, too.
Yet, we are different, we two.
For me, this was right,
I knew You were the one.
I told you so...
And your fear grew.
The times have changed
And we are different still.
You've gone your way.
I wanted you to feel as I,
Yet, I fell in love.
And that is so.
So, I walk away. Alone again.
And I'd like to think the wiser,
Yet, I did the best thing,
I will again, should you appear,
I'd say, 'I love you, woman'
And, perhaps this time you'll stay.
I'll pray.
